This beautiful set was made from a semi sheer embroidered batiste (some other colors available, or other styles). Semi sheer dresses were extremely popular in the 1860s, as a way to keep cool in warm weather.
It has a Civil War period correct hand gathered bodice, skirt and sleeves. The bodice has Abalone shell buttons (standard buttons available). The dress and bonnet have ornate Civil War era guimp trim and broderie anglaise ruffles, handmade rosettes, centered with freshwater pearls (all optional, less expensive options available). At the waist is a Secession CSA cockade representing Louisiana (other states and styles available) with a lead free pewter Civil War replica Pelican button. âLouisianaâ¦Cockade, with its pelican button in the centre and its two small streamers, was the distinguishing mark of the 'Secessionist.'" ("Memories A Record of Personal Experience and Adventure During Four Years of War" by Fannie A. Beers). Other states available.
Please include color and fabric print or solid fabric preference. Maximum skirt length 24". Please allow additional time for specific items (some may take 4 weeks). Some selections can be shipped quickly. Exact style of broderie anglaise may change due to availability.
